Thompson of Cutchogue died November 15, 2018. She was 93 years old.She was born on May 16, 1925 to Magdalena (nee Rychlinski) and Frank Elak. She made her home and raised her family in Cutchogue with her husband, Elwood “Tommy” Thompson.She loved working at her Elak family Manor Hill Farm for many years. Her love of flowers and gardening made no chore of the work she also did for the Plantage and Trimble’s. Bertha was also very active in any club related to Our Lady of Ostrabrama, the Cutchogue Fire Department and Southold American Legion. She was a kind soul and will be remembered by all she touched, her family said in a statement.She is survived by her son Thomas of Mattituck and three daughters, Dorothy (Fred) of Cutchogue, Jeanne (Scott) of East Hampton, and Terry (John) of East Marion. She is also survived by eight grandchildren: Stephen, Keith, Michael, Katherine, Kristin, Dylan, Jacquie and Rachel; and eight great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband in 1996 and her grandson Travis in 2017.The family received visitors on Nov. 18 at the DeFriest-Grattan Funeral Home in Mattituck. A funeral Mass was held Nov. 19 at Our Lady of Ostrabrama Church in Cutchogue, officiated by Father Mariusz Gorazd. Interment was at Sacred Heart Cemetery.Memorial donations may be made to the Long Island Alzheimer’s Foundation, 1025 Old Country Road, Suite 115, Westbury, New York 11590 or the Cutchogue Fire Department, 260 New Suffolk Road, Cutchogue, New York 11935.

He was 78 years old.The family will receive friends Nov. 28 from 5 to 9 p.m. at the Redden Funeral Home, 325 West 14th Street, New York, New York 10014.The Divine Liturgy will be celebrated Nov. 29 at 11 a.m. at St. Eleftherios Greek Orthodox Church, 359 W. 24th Street, New York, New York 10011. Father Al Demos will officiate.Interment will take place at Cutchogue Cemetery.In lieu of flowers, donations to the North Fork Animal Welfare League or Visiting Nursing Service of New York (Hospice) would be appreciated.Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to DeFriest-Grattan Funeral Homes.

Celic Sr. died Nov. 17, 2018. He was 73 years old.Celic was a prominent Mattituck real estate broker.The family will receive visitors on Wednesday, Nov. 21 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the DeFriest-Grattan Funeral Home in Mattituck. Mattituck Lions Club will hold services at the funeral home at 7:30 p.m.The Liturgy of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, Nov. 23 at 10:30 a.m. at Our Lady of Good Counsel Church in Mattituck.Interment will follow at New Bethany Cemetery in Mattituck.A complete obituary will follow.
